Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address (and your name, if you provide it) is sent to and stored by our newsletter provider MailerLite (UAB “MailerLite”, Vilnius, Lithuania — EU-based). MailerLite processes this data on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement; their servers are located in the EU. The subscription form on this site is a plain HTML form — it does not load any third-party JavaScript before you submit it. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter email.
Videos (PeerTube) and peer-to-peer sharing
Some posts embed videos from our own PeerTube instance (videos.devteams.at), which we host on our own server. The video player loads directly from that server — no third-party company receives data or sets cookies through the embed.
The player offers an optional peer-to-peer mode (WebTorrent), which is off by default. If you enable it, video data is shared directly with other people watching the same video, and your IP address becomes visible to those (unknown) peers. Enabling peer-to-peer is your explicit choice — you confirm it in a popup dialog — and the choice is stored on your device (browser local storage) so it applies to all videos on this site. You can withdraw it at any time with the same switch on any video.
Podcast player (BuzzSprout)
Some posts link to podcast episodes hosted on BuzzSprout (BuzzSprout, Inc., USA — a third-party podcast host). The site itself only shows a plain link to the episode. If you enable the embedded podcast player on a post, an iframe from buzzsprout.com is loaded — only after your explicit consent. Before that, no connection to BuzzSprout is made and no cookies are set by them through the player. Once enabled, BuzzSprout may set cookies and receives your IP address and browser information, as described in their privacy policy: https://www.buzzsprout.com/privacy. Your consent is stored on your device (browser local storage) and applies to all posts; you can withdraw it at any time with the same switch.
